Obama, Wright, and the Christ Hospital connection-03/14/2008 on www.JillStanek.com-"With all the attention the last couple of days on Barack Obama's racist and anti-American pastor, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., this is an opportune time to review Wright's connection to Christ Hospital. I first wrote about this in a WND column over a year ago: Did Wright influence Obama to oppose IL's Born Alive Infant Protection Act?
Points...
1) Obama has been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago since 1988. Obama calls TUCC's pastor, Wright, a spiritual advisor.
2) Wright was the first person Obama thanked in his 2004 U. S. Senate victory speech, along with "fellow Trinitarians." The name of Obama's book, Audacity of Hope, comes from a line he said he heard Wright make in a sermon.
3) From 1986 to 1989, Wright served on the board of directors of Evangelical Health Systems, Christ Hospital's parent company. In 1995, EHS merged to create Advocate Health Care, controlled jointly by the United Church of Christ and Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, both pro-abortion.
4) TUCC is a member of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.
5) In 1999, I discovered babies were being aborted alive at Christ Hospital. I testified before a Congressional committee in 2000 and 2001. I was fired in 2001. Obama opposed IL's Born Alive Infant Protection Act in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
6) Christ Hospital's CEO throughout that time, Carole Schneider, was a UCC member.
7) One prominent Advocate board member then and now is Rev. Dr. Ozzie Smith, Jr., a former associate pastor at TUCC under Wright.
8) TUCC was listed in 2004 as the U.S.'s largest UCC church. Advocate is the largest nonprofit healthcare provider in Chicago. A crossroads of power and money.
9) Speaking of crossroads, TUCC is located only 5 miles from Christ Hospital (click to enlarge map).

McCain letter complaining to NBC bias-"Mitchell expressed the Obama campaign spin that John McCain could only have done so well last night because he "may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama."... Make no mistake: This is a serious charge. Andrea Mitchell is repeating, uncritically, a completely unsubstantiated Obama campaign claim that John McCain somehow cheated in last night's forum at Saddleback Church . Instead of trying to substantiate this blatant falsehood in any way, Andrea Mitchell felt that she needed to repeat it on air to millions of "Meet the Press" viewers with no indication that 1.) There's not one shred of evidence that it's true; 2.) In his official correspondence to both campaigns, Pastor Rick Warren provided both candidates with information regarding the topic areas to be covered, which Barack Obama acknowledged during the forum when asked about Pastor Warren's idea of an emergency plan for orphans and Obama said, "I cheated a little bit. You may view the OneNewsNow article by clicking here."-It is to bad that Obama wasn't indeed in a cone of silence and so skepticism is justified however, this funny looking individual has some interesting comments to make in defense as to whether or not McCain had an advantage in the forum over this as were the above comments interesting and probabily won't be played off in the media as a response from the otherside.

Zogby poll shows McCain 5 up-"In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday. McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll."-I believe all McCain needs to do is choose the right VP to seal up the social conservative votes!!! But polls this early can change in month as evidence by the previous month. Speaking of which...

U.S. Foundations Give Millions to Law Firm to Promote Abortions Worldwide-"The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), a prominent U.S.-based public interest group litigating and lobbying for pro-abortion policies world-wide, has released its annual report for 2007. The reported CRR budget confirms that large US foundations continue their heavy financial support for radical social policies not only in the US, but all over the world. The report shows that close to fifty percent of CRR’s $14 million budget is financed by more than forty American foundations. The Hewlett and Packard foundations lead the way. Other prominent donors include Ford and MacArthur foundations as well as George Soros’ Open Society Institute. CRR is also supported financially by the UN Population Fund, which claims to take a neutral position on abortion"
Relevant Magazine Founder Not Giving Benediction at DNC-"Cameron Strang, who is the founder and CEO of Relevant Magazine was supposed to give the benediction at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, August 25. However, because this plan was being perceived by some as favoritism toward the Democratic Party and endorsement of their candidate, he is now pulling out, and is recommending author Donald Miller to fill his place. Strang sent a statement to Sarah Pullam of Christianity Today, which read in part: "As a pro-life voter, I never intended my participation to imply unequivocal endorsement, and the DNC knew that and were fine with that..."

Christians threatened with arrest at N.Y. “gay pride” event file suit-"On June 14, police threatened to arrest John Barnes and several other Christians for wearing shirts with the message “Liberated by the blood of Jesus,” handing out literature, holding up signs on a public sidewalk surrounding the event, and speaking with event attendees about their faith. The event was held in a city park and was open to the general public, making the police’s suppression of Barnes’ expression unconstitutional. “Exercising your First Amendment rights is not a crime,” Oster added. “Threatening to arrest Christians simply because they have opposing views and choose to exercise their free speech rights at a public place is unconstitutional.” The complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in Barnes v.
