The reason why I am excited about this is that more attention is being brought to the public square to babies that are aborted either while being born or after surviving an abortion or while in the womb. Big Media is one of the greatest hurdles for the unborn due to the lack of media attention but because Obama is providentially the democrat presidential nominee more attention then usual will be given to the unborn. Also, note that no other nation in the world allows even partial birth abortion which both Obama and Clinton and in my home state Tom Udall voted against banning!!! Vancouver School Policy: Parents Refused Right to Pull Kids from Pro-Homosexual Lessons-"The Vancouver school board has announced that it intends to enforce the B.C. Ministry of Education's policy that forbids parents from removing their children from the classroom during pro-homosexual discussions. Enforce sex lessonsfrom the age of five-"Speculation is growing that the Government’s answer to record abortion numbers among schoolgirls is to start sex education with five-year-olds and scrap the parental opt-out....Under the current law schools must teach the biological facts about sex in science lessons to secondary school pupils. But anything more than this is not compulsory and parents can ask for their children not to be included."

Birth Control, Eugenics Advocate Honored With Postage Stamp-"Britain’s Royal Mail is under fire over a decision to honor a birth control pioneer and eugenicist who shared views on racial purity with the Nazis. Marie Stopes is one of six female pioneers commemorated in a series of postage stamps named “Women of Distinction,” which will be on sale from mid-October. Pro-life campaigners are outraged at the decision, given the controversies surrounding Stopes, who died in 1958. The Scottish-born Stopes in 1921 opened Britain’s first family planning clinic, which has grown into the world’s biggest private abortion provider, Marie Stopes International....41 years after Stopes’ death, readers of Britain’s liberal Guardian newspaper voted her “Woman of the Millennium.”...According to her biography in The World of Genetics, it was after Stopes met and was inspired by American birth control activist Margaret Sanger in 1915 that she “began crusading for sexual freedom and birth control.” Sanger, who died in 1966, was the founder of Planned Parenthood and, like Stopes, supported eugenics and has been accused of racism."

California

California Planned Parenthood Spends 700K Against Parental Notice on Abortion-"As it has done in past years, Planned Parenthood abortion businesses in California are willing to shell out some of their abortion profits to make sure they can leave parents in the dark about teen abortions. They are, once again, spending heavily to defeat a parental notification measure.
Earlier this month, the California Secretary of State validated Sarah's Law, the latest version of the parental notification initiative, for the November 4 ballot. Proponents submitted more than 1.2 million signatures on petitions seeking a third vote on adult involvement in minors' abortions, after Propositions 73 and 85 were narrowly defeated in 2005 and 2006. In order to defeat the proposal, Planned Parenthood abortion centers created the mis-named Campaign for Teen Safety. While the organization has received significant funding, new papers from the Secretary of State show the San Jose-based affiliate of Planned Parenthood recently contributed $700,000 to the campaign to defeat parental notification."

Minnesota

Abortion Alternatives Programs: Reducing Abortions and Protecting a Woman’s Right to Choose Childbirth Over Abortion-"The Minnesota abortion alternatives program, “Positive Alternatives,” has just been granted roughly 1.5 million dollars in state funding per year for the next three years, totaling to 4.7 million dollars. The Positive Alternatives program was approved by the state legislature in 2005. Non-profit organizations that qualify for participation in the program will be reimbursed with state funds for services they have provided. Under the program, maternity homes, pregnancy centers, counseling agencies, and other social service agencies will be reimbursed for the free services they have already provided to women who have chosen childbirth over abortion. Reimbursable services include medical and nutrition services, prenatal care, parenting classes, housing, adoption counseling, food, personal counseling, and educational and employment assistance. Executive Director of Positive Alternatives Scott Fischbach stated that “[t[hese grants ensure that pregnant mothers…won’t feel abortion is their only option.”

Alaska Court Upholds Religious Teachers’ Housing Exemptions Against ACLU Attack-"The Alaska Superior Court has ruled that Alaska can continue to allow tax exemptions for housing of parochial school teachers. The ACLU filed suit to take away property tax exemptions for housing that is owned by religious organizations and used by private parochial school teachers, alleging that the tax exemption violates equal protection and establishment clauses of the state and federal constitutions. Liberty Counsel represents Anchorage Baptist Temple (ABT) and Pastor Jerry Prevo in defense of the exemption. The case is Coonrod v. State of Alaska."

Two Wall Street Giants Crumble-"When Wall Street woke up Monday morning, two more of its storied firms had vanished. Lehman Brothers, burdened by $60 billion in soured real-estate holdings, said it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after attempts to rescue the 158-year-old firm failed.
