I am not Catholic myself however, I do agree with this excellent argument for a Values Voter Vote and hope others will be persuaded to think thru what issues are Biblically more foundational then others and not be persuaded by Big Media to ignore the moral issues. For what is moral but that which is characteristic of God? The character of God is the issue and from that starting point and foundation may God Bless America with health, security and economy. If we make our health, security and economy more foundational then the character of God then may we ask God for grace to rid ourselves of these idols that are replacing our God that has made our nation so healthy, secure and prosperous.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...." Notice this document does not say "all men are born equal" but rather "created equal" so these rights do not began at birth but before birth as I am sure most all of our Religious forefathers would agree. Thank God that science is finally catching up with our faith...

McCain, Obama Statistically Tied in Latest Gallup Poll-"The latest Gallup poll shows GOP presidential candidate John McCain and Democratic presidential candidate in a statistical tie. In poll results released Sunday, McCain led Obama by two points - 47 percent to 45 percent - within the margin of error. McCain recently lead Obama by as many as five points, and Obama had the largest lead between the two at nine points, but neither candidate has been able to hold onto a sizeable lead, Gallup found."

Votting based on emotions-"An African-American businessman says he cannot, in good conscience, support Senator Barack Obama's bid for the White House. Joe Green is president of Hensley Broadcasting and, in 2007, became the first African-American to own an FCC-licensed radio station in central Pennsylvania. He wrote an article recently on his website JGMinistries.net titled "Why do black people love Barack Obama?" In the op-ed piece, Green said that, as a Christian, his first responsibility is to Jesus Christ and not to a particular political party or candidate...But Green, who is also a minister, says Senator Obama has made it clear where he stands on issues such as special rights for homosexuals and abortion. "Not only is [Obama] for abortion rights for any circumstance, but [while a state lawmaker] he even voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which was a law that was going to protect an unborn child who survived an abortion attempt," he adds. Patrick J. Buchanan: Last Chance — For Life-"Patrick J. Buchanan has this commentary on Townhall. He writes: Obama sees an unwanted pregnancy as a cruel and punitive sanction for a teenager who has made a mistake, and abortion as the way out, the road to absolution and redemption. The contrast with Sarah Palin could not be more stark . . . . . . No. The reason this election is the last chance for life is the Supreme Court. For it alone — given the cowardice of a Congress that refuses to restrict its authority — has the power to reverse Roe, and because that court may be within a single vote of doing so . . . Thus, in the first term of the next president, there is a strong probability that one or two of the most pro-Roe justices will leave the bench. Replacement of even one of these two liberal activists with a jurist who has a Scalia-Roberts-Alito-Thomas record on the U.S. appellate court could initiate a challenge to Roe, and its rapid reversal . . ."-Won't it be nice when this issue is no longer a Federal but a state issue and so that we don't have to make this a Presidential issue but local???!!!! It is very possible that this is the election in McCain and Palin to do this!!!! Are we going to look back in history to this election as being part of those voters that voted to end abortion at the federal level once and for all or are we going to look back at this as a missed opportunity? If we take care of "the least of these" I believe God will take care of us!!! One of the rewards will be to take away the curse of always having to make this a Presidential Issue!!!

Biden, Palin May Loom Large in Judge Picks-"Biden’s credentials as a former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee seem to give him more clout in this area, while Palin — seen as the conservative weight on the Republican ticket — is thought to be an assurance that Sen. John McCain will make good on his promise to nominate more judges in the mold of Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel Alito Jr. . . .To varying degrees, vice presidents have helped shape the federal judiciary. This was not lost on conservatives. When Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn., surfaced as McCain’s potential running mate, the backlash was profound."

Flagstaff, AZ city meeting: Pastors opposing special rights based on sexual preference called bigots-"The Arizona Daily Sun carries this report by J. Ferguson: More than 100 residents, including White, crammed into a meeting room at the Radisson Woodlands Hotel for the forum, which was being held by the city’s Diversity Awareness Commission. The proposal seeks to add sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of civil rights that are protected in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations and education . . . But Pastor Bill Guise of the First Congregational Church of Flagstaff gave an alternative Christian viewpoint to the ordinance . . . ”There has been a lot of appeal to the Bible and a lot of appeal to religion and morality,” Guise said. “And I am here to say Christianity for one — and that is my field — is not a monolith. There are many, many, many religious people, and devoutly so, who deeply disagree with this naked religious bigotry against people of different sexual orientation and I am one of them.”

MTV host bashes purity rings, abstinence-"A pro-life youth organization is demanding an apology from MTV. During MTV's Video Music Awards program, British comedian Russell Brand referred to President Bush as "that retarded cowboy fella." Brand was also critical of Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and fiancé, and he took numerous jabs at the family-friendly Jonas Brothers, who are Christians and wear purity rings -- a symbol of being sexually pure until marriage....Erik Whittington with Rock for Life responds to Brand's comments. "What happened on MTV really shouldn't surprise anyone because MTV really isn't about music any longer," Whittington contends. "It's about glorifying sexual immorality and objectifying women." He believes, at the outset, Brand was the wrong pick for the show. Apparently, many in the United Kingdom know of Brand's former alcoholism, heroin, and sex addictions, and numerous police run-ins. "Russell Brand has been arrested 11 times, once even for indecent exposure," Whittington explains. The youth activist argues that youngsters and parents do have a choice as it relates to MTV. "MTV should be turned off, and parents should be investing in filtering programs to keep that program off their TVs," Whittington urges."

Teacher fights to post Declaration of Independence quote- A math teacher sued his school district after the principal told him the words "In God We Trust" and "All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed By Their Creator" must be removed from his homeroom wall because they convey a Judeo-Christian viewpoint....Even though 4,000 students have passed through Johnson's classroom without a single complaint in 25 years, the principal told Johnson the banners were now impermissible because of their religious content....Benitez then quoted a 1952 Supreme Court ruling, Zorach v. Clauson: "We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose a Supreme Being."

ACLU

The Nampa, Idaho Public Library did not need to bow to the ACLU’s demands-"The Borderfire Report has this article discussing the Nampa library’s recent cave-in to ACLU threats over the removal of sexually explicit books. It indicates: “While it is certainly noble and definitely important for public officials to keep citizens and specifically taxpayers in mind when spending money to defend cases like these, the fact of the matter is the ACLU resorted to one of its favorite weapons, their old trusty and threatening snail mail letter, to force Nampa officials to cave in to a matter in which they were legally on solid ground to resist”, says Nedd Kareiva, director of the Stop the ACLU Coalition, based in Indiana. The Coalition urges Mayor Dale and the library board to reconsider their decision and make contact with a public interest law firm, like the Alliance Defense Fund or Pacific Justice Institute, to assess and take on the case."

New Global Warming Documentary Challenges Gore's 'Truth'-The creators of the Creation Museum have produced another response to popular science-backed claims on an issue that has greatly divided Christians in the United States. “Global Warming: A Scientific and Biblical Exposé of Climate Change” was released by Answers in Genesis and Coral Ridge Ministries on DVD last week in an effort to counter Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth,” which asserts that that global warming is real, potentially catastrophic, and human-caused."-You can buy it here but first watch this 5 minute video preview or read this 6 page pdf.

Do you support school choice?-"The Independent Women's Forum is gathering signatures for education reform through an online petition. Independent Women's Forum (IWF) senior fellow Alison Kasic says education is suffering due to a government monopoly on the institution. In conjunction with the online petition for school choice, Kasic says the site offers various materials for parents on the subject of school choice....Kasic says as the 2008 presidential election continues, the McCain-Palin ticket has been very supportive of school choice while the Obama-Biden ticket has not been as supportive -- although she notes that Obama has taken a lot of heat for his stance on performance-based pay for teachers."

McCain highlights Obama's push for sex-ed for little ones-"John McCain's presidential campaign is accusing Barack Obama of supporting comprehensive sex education for kindergartners, a familiar attack leveled by Obama's political opponents. The Obama campaign says a new television ad produced by the McCain camp is a "shameful and downright perverse" distortion of Obama's vote for a sex-education bill in the Illinois Senate in 2003....."I remember him using this in his campaign against me saying, 'Barack Obama supports teaching sex education to kindergartners,'" said Obama. "I didn't know what to tell him. But it's the right thing to do -- to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in the schools."

Creation Museum

Creation Museum prepares for Darwinian emphasis-""We're going to have a couple [of] special exhibits opened: one on natural selection, showing that natural selection is not evolution; and another one on ape-men, showing that they are either apes or people and not in between. But we're doing this in ready for the Darwin year," Ham explains. Ham says since opening the museum in May 2007, they have had roughly 600,000 visitors. The museum houses many creation exhibits, including animatronic dinosaurs and a petting zoo for children."
