Pro-Life movement in Utah and Colorado and in the polls under attack

Utah: ADF attorney available to media following trial of arrested pro-life advocates-"On Feb. 3, 2007, Julie Bird and Diana Barker, along with six other adults, arrived at Utah Women’s Health Center. Bird was carrying her 15-month-old daughter at the time. The group prayed and distributed literature peacefully on a public sidewalk. Later, police arrived after receiving a call from a clinic employee.
Officers spoke to clinic employees but did not question Bird or Barker. They issued citations to both only after exiting the clinic. The Salt Lake City prosecutor changed the charges against the two women four times since the incident. Currently, they are charged with disturbing the peace and trespassing.
“Exercising one’s First Amendment rights on a public sidewalk is not a criminal offense,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Byron J. Babione. “Arresting pro-life advocates simply because they choose to exercise their First Amendment rights in a public place is unconstitutional.”
A fact sheet on the case is available at www.telladf.org/UserDocs/BarkerBirdFactSheet.pdf."

Race for the cure and ignore a cause-"The Rocky Mountain News covered the story this way, along with festive pink pictures:
A river of pink flooded downtown Denver this morning as more than 60,000 people ran and walked in the 16th annual Komen Race for the Cure to support people affected by breast cancer...(Click on link to see pictures)...That was the liberal half of the news. The other half of the news was that CO Right to Lifers wanting ignorant women to learn a significant but covered up cause of breast cancer - abortion - parked a Truth Truck along the parade route and also picketed with signs.
The other half of the news was that a man jumped out of the crowd and grabbedLeslie Hanks' signs and literature and tried to destroy them. The cops arrested him, slapped him in cuffs, and Leslie filed a complaint."

Obama Pro-Life!!!???

Web Site Calls Obama Pro-Life-""The Matthew 25 Web page is a desperate attempt to attract pro-life Christian voters to Obama by misrepresenting and redefining the pro-life cause," said Carrie Gordon Earll, senior bioethics analyst at Focus on the Family Action. "It's an insult and affront to every true pro-lifer in the country."
The site claims Obama will reduce abortion by "giving women and families the support and the tools they need to choose life."
Perhaps Obama should consider supporting Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound Program, which has issued 405 grants for ultrasound machines and sonography training since 2004. Tens of thousands of preborn babies have been saved, thanks to the millions of dollars that are donated to Focus each year for pro-life efforts.
Obama has received a 100 percent pro-abortion rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America. His rating from the National Right to Life Committee? Zero.
The Matthew 25 Network, which claims to promote "life with dignity," says an Obama administration would do more than a McCain administration "for the cause of life."
Earll said she isn't buying it.
"The meaning of pro-life is to protect human life from the single-cell stage to natural death," she said. "That means opposing public policies that target and destroy innocent human life. From what I can see, not one word of this Web site addresses banning abortion, or even restricting it. "If Obama wants to reduce abortion, he should support pro-life measures like parental involvement, informed consent and public-funding restrictions. Obama's words and actions do not conform to being pro-life."

In the Illinois Senate, Barack Obama blocked legislation to protect babies who survive abortion."

Roe vs Wade in the balance this election

LA Times: “This time, Roe vs. Wade really could hang in the balance”-"David Savage, writing in the LA Times:
Every four years, defenders of abortion rights proclaim that the fate of Roe vs. Wade hangs on the outcome of the presidential election.
This year, they may be right.
Via Patterico’s Pontifications, which disputes Savage’s claim."

Next president will reshape U.S. courts from top to bottom-"The next president will tip the courts, one way or another.
Supreme Court openings are all but guaranteed, and that's just the start: 44 trial and appellate federal judicial vacancies already await filling. There will be more.
Consider this: President Bush has placed 316 judges on the bench during his two terms. One out of three federal judges now owes a lifetime-tenured job to the current president. Whoever replaces Bush will be likewise recasting courthouses, top to bottom."

President Bush Discusses Judicial Accomplishments and Philosophy-"We've seen the profound impact that judges can have on the daily lives of every citizen. We saw the power of judges in 2002, when the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals declared the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional because it contained the words "under God."
We saw the power of judges in the Kelo decision. A 5-4 majority of the Supreme Court ruled that governments could seize people's homes for private development -- if the government decided the seizure was for the greater good.
We saw the power of judges in Boumediene v. Bush. There, a 5-4 majority rejected the carefully crafted procedures Congress established for detainees held at Guantanamo Bay in response to a prior Supreme Court decision. And for the first time, the Court awarded foreign terrorists held overseas legal rights previously reserved for American citizens.
Recently, we've also seen the important role of judges in the rulings of a very different 5-4 majority: We saw this last year, when five members of the Supreme Court upheld a law banning the grisly practice of partial birth abortion. (Applause.) We saw it again this June, when that same slender majority stood up for the plain meaning of our Constitution and upheld the rights of citizens under the Second Amendment. (Applause.)
The lesson should be clear to every American: Judges matter....Judge Scalia recently gave an interview on the TV show "60 Minutes." I don't know if you're supposed to call it a TV show, kind of -- (laughter) -- newsworthy show. (Laughter.) He talked about the schoolchildren who visit the Supreme Court and proudly recite what they had been taught about "the living Constitution." Judge Scalia noted that he usually had the sad duty of telling the children that the Constitution was never alive. (Laughter.) He believed, as I do and many in this hall believe, that the Constitution is not a living document, it is an enduring document, and good judges know the difference. (Applause.)"

Obama's votes on Born Alive aborted babies in the news once again. See http://www.bornalivetruth.org/.

Committee for Truth in Politics, Inc. seeks injunction over Obama abortion ad campaign-"The James Madison Center for Free Speech has issued a press release (Oct. 3, 2008) indicating:
Today, the Committee for Truth in Politics, Inc. (“CTP”) filed suit to protect it from FEC investigation and enforcement action for running an ad, titled Basic Rights, which qualifies as an “electioneering communication” under federal election law, but cannot be regulated because it is protected by the “appeal-to-vote” test announce by Chief Justice Roberts in the 2007 decision of Federal Election Commission v. Wisconsin Right to Life (”WRTL II”).
The text of the ad is as follows . . .
The ad has been broadcast in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and the suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina . . .
The case is titled Koerber v. FEC. Case documents are available on the website for the James Madison Center for Free Speech at http://www.jamesmadisoncenter.org/."

Breaking news: Movement on Hialeah abortion/murder case-"Story backdrop 1st (see sources here, here, and here for corroboration):
On July 20, 2006, a baby was allegedly aborted alive at A Gyn Diagnostic Center in Hialeah, FL.
At least 2 witnesses saw clinic owner Belkis Gonzalez (pictured below left) cut the potentially viable (~23 weeks gestation) baby's cord and put the baby in a biohazard bag with bleach inside....The mother, who experienced a change of heart at her baby's delivery, hired the Thomas More Society, a pro-life law firm, to pursue a civil case. After a long delay, prosecutors handed the baby over for a 2nd autopsy.
This brings us 2 pieces of breaking news...."

Aborted Hialeah baby finally to rest in peace-"I have reported on this poor baby several times. Finally she will be laid to rest..."-See documentation in this sad case...Also, see http://www.bornalivetruth.org/ and why Obama is according to voting records the most pro-choice president hopeful ever!!!

Planned Parenthood exposed once again

Students for Life catches 2 Planned Parenthoods covering up statutory rape-"Watch this one quick, because Planned Parenthood has been getting to someone at Google/YouTube and getting them to take down these videos...

....To recap, 2 separate PPs - the 1st Planned Parenthood Charlotte Health Center, the 2nd Planned Parenthood Winston-Salem Health Center - told 2 minor posers the sex they'd supposedly had with a 30+-year-old was reportable to authorities but didn't report it, even though both girls gave the clinics addresses (fake) and their cell phone numbers.
Both clinics further instructed the girls anyone over 18 could buy a MAP over-the-counter, hint hint, the statutorily raping boyfriend.
And both clinics offered to get the girls on birth control to aid and abet the rapist with further abuse.
These are two ways PP helps cover up rape and incest, another being by abortion."

Ohio Supreme Court Hears Planned Parenthood Secret Teen Abortion Case-"The Ohio Supreme Court is holding a hearing today on a case involving a secret abortion on a 14-year-old girl who was a victim of rape. A Cincinnati couple is upset their daughter had an abortion at a local Planned Parenthood facility without their knowledge or consent as required by state law.
The girl's parents filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio for violating the state's parental notification law by not telling them of her abortion, which may have been coerced.
The girl in the case provided an incorrect phone number to Planned Parenthood officials for notification. Instead of giving the abortion center her parents' phone, she gave the number for her 22-year-old boyfriend -- her soccer coach John Haller.
Haller started having sexual relations with the teenager when she was 13 and he was eventually convicted in 2004 of sexual battery and spent three years in prison. he signed off on the abortion instead of the teen's father.
The parents filed a lawsuit that began the series of court actions and alleged Planned Parenthood violated state law, filed to get proper informed consent, and failed to report a suspected case of child abuse to authorities."

President Bush vs Obama on tax-payer funding of abortion groups

USAID Decision Points to How Barack Obama Would Fund US, Intl Abortions-" Last week, the Bush administration used a national law prohibiting American taxpayer funding of international groups that promote forced abortions to de-fund UK-based Marie Stopes International. The decision to points to how the policy could change if Barack Obama becomes president.
As LifeNews.com reported, Assistant Administrator for Global Health Dr. Kent Hill banned funding of MSI on the grounds that it is complicit in "coercive abortion and involuntary sterilizations" in China....The Bush administration has also withheld millions of taxpayer dollars from the UNFPA for the same reason -- after the State Department conducted an investigation and found the UN agency lent support to China's one-child policy that involves forced abortions and sterilizations.
What would happen to this policy against funding forced abortion-friendly groups should Obama occupy the White House?
Obama was not present for a Senate vote this summer on whether the policy preventing funding of the UNFPA and abortion businesses in China should be weakened.
Before that, in April 2005, Obama supported an amendment to nullify the Mexico City Policy, which prevents forcing taxpayers to fund performing or promoting abortions in other nations."

US Government Cuts Off Supplies to Marie Stopes International-"According to news reports, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has issued a new directive requiring several African countries to stop providing United States-funded contraceptives to Marie Stopes International (MSI), one of the world's leading abortion providers."

Democratic Platform Promises, Republican Platform Rejects More Abortion Overseas-"The platforms of the two major American parties show a stark difference in how each presidential candidate would approach United Nations (UN) issues. The Republican platform explicitly rejects various UN treaties while the Democratic platform makes clear its support for the agenda of wider access to abortion and a strengthening of the UN system of enforcing abortion rights."

Mexico

Legislators Seek Abortion-on-Demand for Every State in Mexico-"In the wake of a Supreme Court ruling affirming the constitutionality of Mexico City's abortion law, which allows a woman to kill her unborn baby for any reason during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy, liberal lawmakers are seeking to extend abortion-on-demand to every state in Mexico.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) recently announced that it will be introducing legislation to legalize abortion in 28 different legislatures, and urged federal lawmakers to legalize the practice at the national level, something they have thus far refused to consider."
