Congratulations to Obama and to America for our first African-American president. This is historic and telling of Americans....

Congratulations to McCain for enduring probabily one of the toughest elections in history. The odds were quite stacked up against a Republican Presidential victory and so is telling of a great American war hero fighting for those conservative Republican principles....

May the LORD bless both with wisdom as they take their positions in office this and next year.

I Timothy 2:1-6 - "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

And

1 Peter 2:11-25-"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."

Pro-Life

The unborn lost on all 4 ballot initiatives this election. Lost parental involvement in California, lost the right to live except in cases of rape, incest and life of the mother in South Dakota and lost the ability to be defined as human in Colorado.

Disappointing Night for Pro-Life Americans-"Advancing a culture of life never was a short-term project, and it will continue despite Barack Obama’s “extreme” position on abortion, a pro-life group said on Wednesday. Dr. Charmaine Yoest, president and CEO of Americans United for Life, congratulated Obama on his election victory. She also reminded him that during the course of his campaign, he and his surrogates “argued for ‘common ground’ on abortion rights.” Yoest noted that Obama promised Planned Parenthood that his first act as president would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), a proposed law that would nullify virtually all federal and state limitations on abortion, including partial-birth abortion.....Election Day brought several other disappointments for pro-life Americans: A South Dakota ballot measure that would have outlawed most abortions in the state was defeated, and Colorado voters rejected a measure that would have defined a fertilized egg as a human being. In California, a measure requiring parental notification before terminating a minor’s pregnancy was defeated."

Fr. Frank: Americans don't share Obama's "extreme and offensive views" on abortion-"There will be a conference call tonight at 9p EST of national pro-life leaders reflecting on the presidential race. Sign up to join in the call here. Following is a statement by Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life with which I fully concur....Americans have made a grave mistake in electing Barack Obama to the presidency....The man elected to the Presidency said during the campaign that he does not know when a human being starts to have human rights. How can one govern from that starting point of ignorance? Governing is about protecting human rights; to do it successfully, you have to know where they come from, and when they begin....The American people do not share Barack Obama's extreme and offensive views on abortion. They never have and they never will. The coming 4 years will see a widening gap between the people and their President on this fundamental issue. As Americans come to know how extreme his position is, the intensity of the struggle to protect these children will only increase....It is all right to be disappointed at the end of an election season, but one must never walk away."

Same Sex Marriage

Cspan has named ballot initiatives defining marriage as between and a man and a woman in California, Florida, and Arizona as winners and in Arkansas a ban on adoption to single parents was passed. So traditonal family values at the parental and marital level all won!!!

So bitter and sweet was this election cycle on ballot initiatives. There is some exciting upcoming news concerning these issues. Stay tune....

Morning Bell: Congratulations, President-Elect Obama-From the conservative Heritage Foundation with some encouraging observations for conservatives, also.
