Post-abortion ad reaches out, brings healing-"A post-abortion help ad featured on New York City's subways has brought quick and positive results.

Michaelene Fredenburg ran the "Abortion Changes You" ad and listed a website to visit called AbortionChangesYou.com. The author of Changed: Making Sense of Your Own or a Loved One's Abortion Experience was amazed at how quickly over 1,600 post-abortive people expressed a need for help.

"There was one young woman who wrote in and said, 'I feel like I don't deserve to live anymore. I'm 24, confused, and alone. I hate myself for what I've done. I felt like I was the only one suffering until I found this website [ad] on the train,'" she recounts. The website, according to Fredenburg, also received a large number of responses from men who are hurting from abortions. Christian Newswire reports that visitors to the website, both men and women, were able to describe their feelings associated with theirs or another person's abortion. The most reported feelings were "ashamed," "angry," "alone," and "changed."

"We also had wondered if perhaps we were going to receive a lot of negative communication, and we did not," Fredenburg adds. She believes the responses are a clear indication that abortions have negative repercussions for the baby, the mother, and the father. Fredenburg suggests the needs should be addressed immediately. "Reaching out after my abortion was a turning point for me," she explains. The website has referrals for people who want help, regardless of where they live."
