First, American Tax Payers had to dish out for abortions at home and abroad. Then we learn we will be funding programs that increase unwanted pregnancies and thus abortions. Then we learn we are going to pay for Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job. Then we learn we are going to pay to study a possible link between alcohol and homosexuality in Argentina to fight aids. Then we learn we are going to pay for a study about "Party Drugs" in Brazil. And now this, a study granted $2.2 million dollars to study hibernation (see article below comments). At least this one doesn't have to do with some ungodliness of some sort.
Where is Big Media when you need them? And people wonder why Americans have a negative view of taxes right now when our government is giving our hard earned cash over to universities to study stupidity and to organizations that have no problem with aborting an innocent human life. I know the money amounts don't ad up to that much in comparison to our debt but that's the problem of our out of control government not my argument.
For the government to tax its people and use the taxes to fund such programs when most of these problems could be resolved by our God given consciences of right and wrong and if our consciences are so seered as to not be able to figure out the absurdity of it all may Christ save us which in His mercy He does amazingly enough. He saved mine so I must extend the same mercy to others.
CNSNews.com reports that "the National Institutes of Health has awarded a $2,227,500 grant to explore the possibility of inducing a hibernation-like state in "non-hibernating mammals" such as humans."
Cheng Chi Lee with American hard earned cash will head the research at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
“The induction of hypometabolism in cells and organs to reduce ischemia damage holds enormous clinical promise in diverse fields, including treatment of stroke and heart attack,” Lee wrote in the Annual Review of Medicine in 2008.

$2.2 million is not that much when we are used to hearing millions, billions and now a days trillions of dollars in bailouts and budgets. But still it seems for the government to have the arrogance to use our hard earned money for the funding of such stupid studies. If a University wants to study something like this let them use their own money rather then stealing the money from our economy and job creators to do this via taxes.
