Dr. Alveda King (Dr Martin Luther King Jr's niece) joined black leaders yesterday at a screening of the film in DC. She stated:

Juneteenth, the day slavery finally ended in the US, was a turning point in the struggle for equal rights. It's appropriate that we honor that momentous occasion with the viewing of a powerful film that shows how the struggle still continues, as African Americans and all Americans press on to secure the most basic human right, the right to life.
