At post: New York Times once again misses party ID on Jesse Jackson Jr. scandal but doesn't miss labeling Republicans... in April was copied these comments from Times Watch concerning Senator Dodd and the New York Times not letting it's readers know that Senator Dodd was a democrat under investigation and whenever a Republican is under investigation the New York Time makes that clear in its articles: "Previously, the paper completely left off the party affiliation of besieged Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd in a March 20 story"

Now that Senator Dodd is cleared the New York Times lets its readers know he is a democrat!!!

Dodd Cleared of Wrongdoing -- Times Suddenly Remembers He's a Democrat

How convenient for the liberal senator from Connecticut.

Now that Sen. Chris Dodd, liberal Democrat of Connecticut, has been cleared by the Senate Ethics Committee of wrongdoing, has the Times decided it's safe to identify him as a Democrat again?

Here's the lead to Saturday's story by David Herszenhorn:

The Senate Select Committee on Ethics on Friday cleared two senior Democrats of receiving improper discounts on mortgages from Countrywide Financial, the home lending giant.

The senators -- Christopher J. Dodd of Connecticut, chairman of the banking committee and Kent Conrad of North Dakota, chairman of the Budget Committee -- had come under scrutiny after it was disclosed in June 2008 that they had been part of the “Friends of Angelo” V.I.P. program, named for Angelo R. Mozilo, Countrywide’s chief executive.

With Dodd apparently in the clear legally, the Times suddenly manages to shake off its bad habit of forgetting Dodd is a Democrat, a pretty important detail that the paper constantly left off when reporting on the senator's myriad ethical woes."
