Values Voter News is in total agreement with McCain but very understanding of the crowds reaction. Let us pray for our leaders with all integrity in place and continue to see what providentially unfolds.

Politico reports on two Senator's concern (one a democrat and one a republican) for the passing of this health care reform at:

Feingold: 'We're headed in the direction of absolutely nothing'

Russ Feingold tells a Wisconsin crowd of the prospects for health care legislation:

"Nobody is going to bring a bill before Christmas, and maybe not even then, if this ever happens," Feingold said. "The divisions are so deep. I never seen anything like that."

Feingold reiterated his appraisal a bit later.

"We're headed in the direction of doing absolutely nothing, and I think that's unfortunate," he said when asked about the plight of uninsured Americans.
Grassley: Health deal may not be 'possible'

Gang-o-Sixer Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), speaking to ag reporters on a conference call today, said he's increasingly pessimistic the Senate can work out any deal with the White House, simply because the Obama administration is so confused.

This from the guy who almost, nearly, possibly suggested the death panel thing was real.

Transcript from his site [h/t Chris Harris]:

I don't think it's going to be possible to work it out with the administration because they're all over the field — all over the ball park, I guess, as we say.

And, you know, one weekend, the secretary of HHS is saying you don't have to have a public option. The next day, the administration gets hit from the left, so the Obama says public option is still very, very important to them.

But, yes, I do believe it's possible to reach an agreement. But I have to confess to you to be a little more cautious when I say that now, because I've been out here listening to my constituents. And if — and if other members of Congress are hearing what I'm hearing, they're saying, "Slow it down. Do it a little more carefully. Make sure you know what you're doing. And maybe do it even a little more incrementally. ...

It may cause us to change course. I doubt if it will drop negotiations. It might even open the door for other Republicans that have plans to come into the discussion."

Howard Dean afterwards...

Many are in agreement with McCain above and Mr Dean that we should be civil about this but to conclude we need to be supportive of any plan set forth by any President is a stretch when we are under the rule of a democratic government. And the frustation from the people is understandable. Mr Dean should also take a moment to reflect not on blaming the American public for participating in the democratic process like this but he may want to review the actions of the Presidency to see if whether or not there is any fault there.

For much evidence of that see: Is the Congressional Research Service Making 'False Claims' Too?-"Rep. Lamar Smith quotes from a new report by the Congressional Research Service to debunk President Obama's "willful misrepresentations," "outright distortions," and "outrageous myths" on immigration and health care.* Given the political importance of the illegal-alien question, it's worth quoting Smith's press release at length, especially since CRS reports aren't usually released to the public:" And FactCheck.org and Time Magazine finally confirm that health care reform would mark significant change in tax payer funded abortions and Is Obama bearing false witness himself when he claims others are bearing false witness on the issue of tax payer funded abortions? and The Heritage Foundation's blog titled "Myths and Facts about ObamaCare" responds to claimed "Misperceptions about the president's plan.." at NBC and AARP releases statement that they are not on board with ObamaCare even though Obama says they are and White House vs those "scaring" the public on ObamaCare over the issue of the public option being a step toward universal health care or not. and New Whitehouse Reality Check web site needs a Reality Check itself. and New Whitehouse Reality Check web site needs a Reality Check itself. II.

And the list could go on and on. This has been a PR nightmare and yet Obama and those for this reform continue to put the blame anywhere but themselves. Values Voter News sees one word coming forth that is destroying health care reform right now.

Trust. Trust must be earned not forced. You don't earn trust by belittling the concerns of Americans. Again and again Obama has claimed "misinformation" and "fabrications" and Americans are "bearing false witness" when many Americans have these genuinely held concerns and again and again he drops in the polls with the way he is reacting to these concerns. What may work better then claiming "misinformation" and repeating your position is to point to the actual page in the bill to disprove those concerns. It seems the only one's using the bill itself to prove their concerns are those concerned over the concerns.

In addition to a genuine lack of trust it appears that voters are simply not for a government solution reform but want other solutions then government involvement as an editorial at the Wall Street Journal stated words: "Voters aren’t stupid. The true reason ObamaCare is in trouble isn’t because ‘folks aren’t listening,’ but because they are."-Again see The Heritage Foundation's blog titled "Myths and Facts about ObamaCare" responds to claimed "Misperceptions about the president's plan.." at NBC and FactCheck.org and Time Magazine finally confirm that health care reform would mark significant change in tax payer funded abortions

This is not to say that Government doesn't have a proper role but it is to say that that role is to not get into the business itself but rather to focus on properly regulating the business's that are in the business. There is a real conflict of interest when the government gets into the business between regulating and running a business and I don't think most trust the Government to regulate their own business properly. They poorly regulated their own mortgage giants in Fannie and Freddie largely because of this conflict of interest which destroyed our economy and now they expect us to see how they will handle health care?

Governments proper role is to regulate not become a business but rather to be sure there are laws against criminal actions in all fields and enforce those laws. There are other aspects of Government like national security and others but in the context of health care many have a hard time trusting the PR from this government on this particular issue so far.

We will see what happens...
