As you watch the video note that Evening News Ratings are down 1 million viewers a night since 06-07 season and may be at their worst viewership ever. and then notice the graph in that post showing that ABC, NBC and CBS have lost about an average of 1 million viewers a night a year since 1980 even as population grows which coincides with Gallup Polls polling of trust in media since the 70's.

In below graph notice the top 4 that trust the news media are Democrats, Nonwhites (which a majority happen to be Democrats, High School or less and Liberals (which happen to be mostly democrats or further left). Then compare the bottom 4 which are Conservatives (which mostly are Republicans or further right), Republicans, Post Graduates and College Graduates. And so where are the Independents? About 19 percentage points below Democrats and only 3% above Republicans. This is quite consistent with the Pew Research Survey above.
