Don't be complaining about gay pride parades marching through your town lest you be deemed a gay hater.

Believe it or not but Channel 4 in the UK equates complaints of gay pride parades from "elderly women" as a hate crime and evidence of a "rise in hate crimes" in the UK see evidence below.

Anything less then the long standing and well tested Hyde Amendment would be less then current law when it comes to tax payer funding of abortion and should draw legitimate concern as pro-life democrats are being tempted to vote less then Hyde. It makes no sense to not have the Hyde Amendment language in this bill unless one is trying to get abortion covered some way via American tax payers and/or one is trying to compromise with something less than current law to get health care reform passed and I am sure there are other possibilities. But regardless current law is the Hyde Amendment on tax payer funding of abortion so they need to put current law in the bill or else it will be seen as a compromised position that doesn't protect tax payer funding of abortions like current law would.

For more on this watch excellent interview of pro-life democrat Stupak who has not yet compromised with the Hyde Amendment language in the bill in video below and as you watch read about the most recent compromise from JillStanek.com...

Jill Stanek reports on the latest possible compromise as another attempt to not have to place the Hyde Amendment language into the bill.

Breaking News: New phony healthcare amendment may peel House pro-life Dems

A Congress Daily article this morning (subscription only) entitled, "House Dems close to abortion deal," begins:

Democrats are close to finalizing an abortion compromise that would hopefully draw enough moderate anti-abortion Democrats to mitigate a threat from Rep. Bart Stupak, D-MI, to block the bill from coming to the floor....

Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-CT, has been working on the abortion compromise with Rep. Brad Ellsworth, D-IN. At a Caucus meeting Monday night, Ellsworth circulated revised language to strengthen the outline drafted by Rep. Lois Capps, D-CA, without writing into law the Hyde Amendment's prohibition on using federal funds for abortion. Rep. Baron Hill, D-IN, said the language assuaged his concerns about abortion in the bill. "It makes it clear that no federal dollars can be used for abortion," Hill said....

THIS IS A PHONY.

First hint: DeLauro is a flaming pro-abort.

The National Right to Life Committee has obtained the text of what it believes to be the Ellsworth Amendment, and the changes it makes in the abortion-related provisions of the bill are strictly cosmetic.

According to the NRLC, If that language is added to HR 3962:

(1) the new federal government insurance program, the "public option," would still be explicitly authorized to pay for all elective abortions by language on page 110 of the bill; and

(2) the federal premium subsidies ("affordability credits") could still be used to purchase private health plans that cover elective abortion.

Per NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson: "The pro-abortion House Democratic leadership is using Ellworth's phony language to undercut the real pro-life amendment, which is the amendment proposed by Reps. Bart Stupak and Joe Pitts (R-PA). The Ellsworth language is the legislative equivalent of putting pancake makeup on a cancer, rather than performing lifesaving surgery."

Brad Ellsworth, healthcare, abortion, Stupak, Pitts.jpgAction: Until now Ellsworth was had a good pro-life record. Call his DC office to convey dismay (202-225-4636) as well as his Evansville (812- 465-6484) and Terre Haute offices (812- 232-0523).

Most importantly, encourage pro-lifers in IN's 8th Congressional District to do the same.

Also call your congressperson and tell him or her pro-lifers will accept nothing less than adoption of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment.

Related: Obama has the largest 2nd to 3rd quarter drop in approval ratings ever on the Gallup poll and other interesting polling stats

Congressman Lamar Smith from the Media Fairness Caucus had this to say concerning the New York Times in late September.

Times Focuses on Gallup Poll Showing Palin Unpopularity, Ignored Drops by Obama, John Edwards

By: Clay Waters
October 23, 2009 14:28 ET

The Times still doesn’t miss a chance to go after former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Nadia Taha’s Friday post on the nytimes.com “Caucus” blog, “Palin Endorses Conservative in Divisive New York Race," took a parting shot at Palin's recent low favorability ratings in a Gallup poll. But what about similar steep drops by Barack Obama and John Edwards?

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has dipped into New York State politics by endorsing a third-party candidate in a divisive congressional race.

Mrs. Palin backed Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party nominee, in the traditionally Republican 23rd District. The Republican nominee, Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, is a moderate who has broken with the G.O.P. by supporting same-sex marriage and abortion rights.

The seat was vacated by John McHugh, a Republican, when President Obama tapped him to become Army secretary, forcing a special election on Nov. 3.

The Republican Party’s selection of Ms. Scozzafava has alarmed some more conservative Republicans, who feel the party is selling out its ideals to retain the seat. In selecting Ms. Scozzafava, state Republican leaders may have been mindful that Mr. Obama carried the traditionally Republican district.

Taha concluded:

The endorsement comes just a week after a Gallup poll found that Mrs. Palin’s favorability had dipped to its lowest point since she became Senator John McCain’s vice presidential nominee. According to the poll, her approval rating took a hit when she abruptly resigned as governor in July, and has not recovered during her relative absence from the political scene.

The Times didn’t bother mentioning how the same Gallup release showed disgraced liberal Democrat John Edwards’ numbers had plummeted even further:

Former presidential and vice presidential candidate John Edwards, embroiled in personal scandal, is rated favorably by 21% of Americans and unfavorably by 59%....Gallup has never before found as steep a decline in consecutive measurements of a prominent figure using the favorable/unfavorable format, which it began using in 1992.

And only two days ago, Gallup issued a release showing Obama’s average daily approval rating slipped to 53% in the third quarter of 2009, (July 20-October 19), down nine points from his second-quarter average. A Gallup release stated that “the 9-point drop in the most recent quarter is the largest Gallup has ever measured for an elected president between the second and third quarters of his term, dating back to 1953.”

A nytimes.com search indicates the Times has yet to mention it in print or online."

Update 11/04/2009 40 days for life has audio of this interview on a talk radio show of Abby and apparently she was on the View on ABC. Click on link above for 10 minute audio interview and below are some further comments from 40 days for life blog link above.

"Not only that, but yesterday, the first segment of ABC’s “The View” had Barbara Walters discussing Abby’s conversion and the disturbing revelations about how Planned Parenthood pressured Abby to increase the numbers of abortions to increase their income — which even pro-abortion co-host Joy Behar called “gross.”
The View’s national audience then heard actress Sherri Shepherd relate her own experience of being pressured at Planned Parenthood when she was 17 years old. She told the Planned Parenthood worker, “I’m not quite sure what I should do and she was pressuring me to get the abortion.”

Update: An interesting note. LifeSiteNews.com has this article titled Director of Planned Parenthood at 40 Days for Life Birthplace Resigns after Watching Abortion Ultrasound-"The director of the Texas Planned Parenthood abortion mill where the 40 Days for Life campaign began has resigned, saying she experienced a conversion after watching an ultrasound video of a child being killed by abortion...."From that first campaign in 2004, we've prayed for Abby - and for all abortion workers - that they would come to see what abortion really is, and that they would leave the deadly business. In this case, those prayers have been answered," said Bereit."-Wow!!! Do you think Big Media will take up this story or will they censor it like Planned Parenthood wants this censored.

Norma McCorvey the very Roe of Roe v. Wade who was also heavily prayed for by pro-lifers who later found forgiveness in Christ said before a Senate committee: "I urge everyone who supports abortion to look at the bodies to face the truth of what they support."

Now back to the original post....

CBNNews.com has this report

Compare that report to the news report below.

JillStanek.com posted this video with these comments concerning a recent conversion from pro-choice to pro-life of a Planned Parenthood director in Bryan, Texas after seeing an ultrasound of an abortion.

"KBTX aired an interview with Johnson and Carney. But while the story, posted above, stated her reasons for resigning were due to seeing an abortion on ultrasound as well as being forced to try to sell more abortions, the video footage of the interview makes no mention of the abortion ultrasound, critical information, no?"

The story at KBTX.com that was posted above these comments said,

"Planned Parenthood
has been a part of Abby Johnson's life for the past 8 years; that is until last month, when Abby resigned. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure."

Coalition for Life where Abby now sends her support had these comments to say concerning Abby Johnson:

"Former Director of Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson, had a change of heart in early October during the Coalition for Life's sixth 40 Days for Life campaign. This is by far the most amazing thing that has happened to the Coalition for Life throughout its entire history...we thank God!"

Nineteen States Move to Defend Individual Health Care Choice

(CNSNews.com)
– Regardless of what the U.S. Congress decides about health care reform, a growing number of states are standing up for individuals’ freedom of choice when it comes to purchasing – or not purchasing – health insurance.

Several Kansas Republicans have introduced a state constitutional amendment that would protect the right of Kansas residents to make their own health care choices. That makes Kansas the 19th state where legislators have introduced, or will introduce, such legislation.

The proposed Kansas amendment preserves the right of individuals to pay directly for medical care -- something that is not allowed in single-payer countries such as Canada. It also prohibits any individual from being penalized for not purchasing government-defined insurance.

Under the amendment, any state attempt to require an individual to purchase health insurance--or forbid an individual from purchasing services outside of the government-established health care system--would be rendered unconstitutional.

The legislation is modeled after a bill written by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a membership association of state lawmakers.

"Federal health care reform efforts may include a requirement that individuals purchase health insurance, and a so-called 'public option' which will result in less choices for consumers and new government mandates," said Iowa State Rep. Linda Upmeyer, who chairs ALEC's Health and Human Services Task Force.

"Americans don't need more government mandates, we need real consumer choice. ALEC's Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act is designed to protect individual rights and our freedom to purchase health insurance of our choice, or not," she added.

Kansas now joins legislators in seven states (Alaska, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Utah) that have publicly announced their intention to file legislation to protect their citizens from any government health-care mandates.

Another 11 states have already filed or pre-filed similar legislation (Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wyoming). Arizona's measure, which passed the legislature in June, will be put before voters on the 2010 ballot.
Democrats in the U.S. Congress are now finalizing legislation that will make major changes to the nation’s health care system, and they are doing so without Republican input.

Republicans say they’re all for health-care reform, as long as it’s the result of true bipartisanship. Republicans say their ideas – including medical liability reform, tax credits to help individuals buy private insurance, and allowing families and businesses buy insurance across state lines – are a better approach than adding a huge new government-sponsored insurance plan into the mix."

If this were a private sector ran rail system reform would be occurring immediately at that companies own expense. But this is a government ran system and we will see how quickly government takes to reforms its politicized self at our tax payers expense. And those on the left want to politicize health care now. Did we not learn anything from the state of our current economy caused by the mortgage crisis which was caused by government's inability to reform their own GSE's that distorted the market with the riskiest of risky loans. See CSPAN Video of Geithner admitting that the perceived government safety net of financial institutions distorted the free market and Obama administration admitting that Fannie and Freddie were a "core part" of the country's financial woes but for in detail see label .

Government-Run Rail System Losing $32 per Passenger, Study Shows

Washington (AP) - U.S. taxpayers spent about $32 subsidizing the cost of the typical Amtrak passenger in 2008, about four times the rail operator's estimate, according to a private study.

Amtrak operates a nationwide rail network, serving more than 500 destinations in 46 states. Forty-one of Amtrak's 44 routes lost money in 2008, said the study by Subsidyscope, an arm of the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Stephen Van Beek, president of the Eno Transportation Foundation, a think tank, said the analysis could help guide decisions on how to spend $8 billion set aside for high-speed and intercity rail in a $787 billion economic stimulus bill. Rail planners may decide that spending the funds on high-speed rail makes more sense than slower intercity rail, which the Amtrak numbers show need higher subsidies.

Subsidyscope says its review counted certain capital expenses that Amtrak doesn't consider when calculating the financial performance of its routes, namely wear and tear on equipment, or depreciation.

Leading the list was the train traveling between San Antonio and Los Angeles -- the Sunset Limited -- which lost $462 per passenger. Taxpayers subsidize the losses to keep the passenger train service running.

The Northeast corridor has the highest passenger volume of any Amtrak route, greatly enhancing efficiency. The corridor's high-speed Acela Express made a profit of about $41 per passenger. The more heavily utilized Northeast Regional lost almost $5 per passenger.

Passenger rail systems throughout the world lose money and require government subsidies to cover operating expenses.

Marcus Peacock, project director for Subsidyscope, said his group's analysis should lead to more scrutiny for the Amtrak routes that are losing the most money.

Van Beek cautioned against holding passenger rail service to a higher standard than other forms of transportation.

"Let's not hold rail up and say it needs to make money when highways don't make money, transit doesn't make money and a lot of small airports don't make money and they all get subsidies," Van Beek said.

The Government Accountability Office had previously said the omission of depreciation substantially understates the capital expenses associated with Amtrak's routes.

Amtrak officials said they're working with the Transportation Department to come up with a fair way to determine capital expenses but the method used in the report unfairly burden routes whose equipment was sold and then leased back.

The Heritage Foundation has this blog this morning which may explain why in comparing what Obama campaigned on and what has become reality (see below article). Values Voter News would like to add that the pro-life issue is another ding in Obama's approval ratings. Also, broken promises of transparency and government oversight taking time with these bills see John McCain with the most recent example at John McCain on the senate floor exposing Obama's broken campaign promises on health care reform and this health care reform has been largely unpopular see recent results of Rassmussen Reports poll at 42% Support Health Care Reform After Release of Pelosi's Version. And of course the job losses. See Obama job chart. Unemployment up to 26 year high. Obama would need to create 477,000 jobs a month to fulfill his own goal.

Morning Bell: We Still Hold These Truths

A year ago this week, the American people elected a President who had promised during the campaign that he would: “cut taxes for 95% of workers and their families,” expand the Army by 65,000 and the Marines by 27,000, and enact “a net spending cut” for the federal government. Lower taxes, a strong defense and shrinking the size of government. Those are all core conservative beliefs. Accordingly, President Barack Obama entered the White House with sky high approval ratings.

But since being sworn into office, President Obama has raised taxes, weakened our defenses, and overseen arguably the largest expansion of government ever. As a result President Obama’s approval ratings have steadily declined, and the American people have only become more conservative. According to Gallup, Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative. While independents and Democrats most often say their views haven’t changed, more members of all three major partisan groups indicate that their views have shifted to the right rather than to the left.

And this is before the more radical elements of the Obama agenda are to be forced on the American people. Both the cap and trade and health care legislation currently moving through Congress will transfer unprecedented power from the private sector to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats in Washington. Search the texts of each bill for the phrase “shall” or “may establish.” Every time these phrases appear in these bills, the left in Congress is empowering unelected Obama Czars at the expense of your liberties. And this is not by accident. The empowerment of unelected bureaucrats is at the very core of Obama’s progressive agenda. Hillsdale College Associate Professor of Political Science Ronald Pestritto explains:

It is the Progressives’ desire to free bureaucratic agencies from the confines of politics and the law that allows us to trace the origins of the administrative state to their political thought. The idea of separating politics and administration–of grounding a significant portion of government not on the basis of popular consent but on expertise–was a fundamental aim of American Progressivism and explains the Progressives’ fierce assault on the Founders’ separation-of-powers constitutionalism.

The Heritage Foundation’s Center for American Studies Director Matthew Spalding details the rise of the progressive movement and their assault on the founding principles of our nation in his new book, We Still Hold These Truths: Rediscovering Our Principles, Reclaiming Our Future. The book is built around 10 foundational principles that created a free, prosperous and just nation unlike any other: Liberty, Equality, Natural Rights, Consent of the Governed, Religious Freedom, Private Property, The Rule of Law, Constitutionalism, Self-Government, and Independence.

The progressive movement represents a threat to these founding principles. For the left, “progress” means fundamentally transforming America with a new form of government that will engineer a “better” society by assuring equal outcomes. It would redistribute wealth through a distant, patronizing welfare state that regulates more and more of the economy, politics and society. President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal and President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society were grand steps toward achieving the progressive platform.

We Still Hold These Truths offers a different direction. Spalding makes the case that we don’t need to remake America, or discover new and untested principles. We need a great renewal of the true roots of American greatness–and a radical reapplication of America’s core principles to the great questions of our day.

These core principles can be the source of a new and unified American conservatism, one that reminds economic conservatives that morality and self-reliance are essential to limited government, reminds cultural conservatives that unlimited government threatens moral self-government, and reminds national-security conservatives that energetic but responsible government is the key to safety at home and prominence in the world.

Well respected pro-life blogger Jill Stanek at JillStanek.com makes these comments at post titled Church haunted house shows abortion:

"And never mind the loopholes in AZ's parental involvement laws would allow any of their daughters no matter what age to get the real deal. One mom complained that depicting abortion was "R-rated." Get real. A 10-year-old can get an abortion sans parental consent in AZ if shown the way by the abortion industry. If only the actual event were "R-rated."

Not to mention that states like California have no parental consent laws. See list of states that have them and states that don't here and then see recent law in Illinois about to go into effect 11/03/2009 as the ACLU is fighting tooth and nail in opposition below videos below.

These comments are in context of complaints about the haunted house showing an abortion as being not "R-rated" but a 10 year old well under "R-rated" age can get an actual abortion without any parental consent.

And then the next post at JillStanek.com Jill posts this excellent YouTube video which compliments the point of above.

And all this will be at American tax payer's expense.

Also, see how the ACLU in Illinois is fighting a parental notification bill before it becomes law on 11/03/2009 at: Legal tiff brews over parental notification which starts off with: "

The ACLU is attacking a parental notification bill in Illinois, claiming it will result in "serious and irreversible harm to teens."

Parental notification in The Land of Lincoln is set to become law on November 3, but the American Civil Liberties Union has filed suit to have the law overturned. The law, which does not require parental consent, will require girls under the age of 18 to notify their parents prior to having an abortion, and to wait 48 hours.

Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute (IFI) explains that if the ACLU fails in its bid, it would be bad news for abortion clinics. She says underage girls from neighboring states flock to Illinois for abortions to escape parental notification laws in those states -- and that makes up a large portion of those clinics' business...."

Four Races Will Test the Strength of Obama's Majority

"Five days from now the voters of New Jersey and Virginia will elect governors. Voters in the 23rd district of New York and the 10th district of California will elect new members of the House of Representatives to replace incumbents, a Republican and a Democrat, who were appointed to positions in the Obama Defense and State departments.

All four of these constituencies voted for Barack Obama 51 weeks ago. Obama won 57 percent of the vote in New Jersey, 53 percent (his national average) in Virginia, 52 percent in New York 23 and 65 percent in California 10."

New Jersey

New Jersey Democrat Governor Chris Christie and Republican Chris Christie are in a tight race according to Rasmussen Reports with just a week till elections.

Election 2009: New Jersey Governor New Jersey Governor: Christie 46%, Corzine 43%

Besides the poll result itself I found these comments interesting...

"...Christie leads by eight points among those who are certain they will show up and vote.

Corzine does better among voters who might not make it to the polls. That's one reason President Obama, former President Bill Clinton and other Democratic Party luminaries are spending time in the Garden State in hopes of encouraging turnout."

Virginia

Since the leftist pro-choice supported Republican candidate dropped out of the race on Saturday Hoffman (the Palin and pro-life supported candidate) is in the lead by 5 points according to recent poll. However, 18% remain undecided. Pollster concludes: "The two candidates and campaigns are both in a sprint to try and convince these undecided voters to support them. Which ever campaign succeeds in convincing the undecided voters and then getting them to the polls tomorrow, will likely be looking at a victory tomorrow night
Und 18 (+9)."

Rasmussen Reports has this interesting article title What NY-23 Says About The GOP And Its Voters- "The race in New York’s 23rd Congressional District highlights the concerns many Republican voters have about their party leaders.

At a time when 73% of Republicans believe their party's representatives in Congress have lost touch with the GOP base, 11 county leaders in upstate New York picked a nominee for Congress who supported the Democratic president’s stimulus package, his health care reform plan and “card check” legislation designed to make union organizing easier. All three items are overwhelmingly opposed by Republican voters - and even by Republicans in Congress.

The decision by county GOP leaders to nominate such a candidate seemed almost designed to provoke the party’s core voters, and it did....

This past weekend, the official Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava dropped out of the race in the face of falling poll numbers and lackluster fund-raising. Then she endorsed the Democrat.

As a result, the New York 23rd Congressional District race will end up being between a Conservative Party candidate and a Democrat."

California

In California's 10th district Democrat is winning by 10 points over Republican.

"More importantly, the private sector does a much better job rooting out fraud and waste than the government does"-From article below video which includes a 60 Minutes CBS program reporting on $60 billion wasted in Medicare fraud.

And there is a very simple explanation for this. Private sector companies are themselves directly accountable for their profits/losses or else they go under and rightfully so. The Government doesn't have this incentive so money is much more easily squandered on waste and fraud at tax payers expense and the bigger the program the bigger the waste. Even if Government had the incentive of being accountable to the American voters, millions has to first be spent on campaigns to insure we get politicians in there that can reform the system and even when that occurs there is so much politics that reform takes forever until it is too late.

Besides, companies in the market can respond to problems much faster and with much less expense (not to mention no expense to tax payers) then Big Government unless that government intrudes into the market distorting the market causing the companies to not respond properly to a rising crisis until it is too late. Fannie and Freddie are excellent examples of this which contributed to our economic crisis (see Obama administration admitting that Fannie and Freddie were a "core part" of the country's financial woes, CSPAN Video of Geithner admitting that the perceived government safety net of financial institutions distorted the free market and label ). Government should rather limit itself to insuring/regulating that the market remains truly free and undistorted.

Hopefully we will not have any government co-ops or public options in our health care system that will inevitably lead to the same economic disaster as our mortgage crisis lead to the current one. History seems to teach us that we don't learn from history or that we are simply not taught it.

Capitalism and the free-market has served us well and what has not is our Big Government socialistic experiments ran by political elites who want to tell those creating jobs what to do with the profits. These men and women earned these profits because they created X amount jobs. They should not be penalized but awarded. Maybe that businessman/woman knows better how to use his/her money in such a way that would be more beneficial to the economy then the waste and fraud that Big Government spends it on?

Actor John Leguizamo asked the question of what is wrong with socialism and Milton Friedman responds in video below.

History says its wrong.

Medicare’s Low Administrative Costs Cost You $60 Billion a Year

Once left for dead, it now appears likely that the health legislation Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) will introduce sometime this week will include a government run health insurance program. One of the biggest reasons leftists support a government run plan is because they believe government run programs, like Medicare, have lower administrative costs than private plans. First of all, as the Washington Post’s Robert Samuelson notes today, that is simply not true: on a per person basis Medicare actually has higher administrative costs than the private sector.

More importantly, the private sector does a much better job rooting out fraud and waste than the government does. Watch this 60 Minutes story from last night detailing how government run Medicare loses $60 billion in taxpayer in fraud every year:

Watch CBS News Videos Online

In the story, Steve Kroft asks convicted Medicare fraudster “Tony” about the extent of the government’s anti-fraud efforts:

“Didn’t anybody in Medicare check to see if any of these charges were valid?” Kroft asked Tony.

“Sometimes they’ll do it. But by the time they did it, it was too late,” Tony said. “We’ve already made $300,000, $400,000, $500,000 on it. And then we will never send ‘em nothing back. And then at 30 days they’ll send an inspector to your office. And by that time…it’s all closed down.”

They would pay first and send an auditor later.

Kroft then talks to FBI agent Brian Waterman:

“There’s somethin’ I don’t understand. I mean, you’re saying essentially people just fill out the phony paperwork, they send a bill to Medicare and they pay it,” Kroft remarked to Brian Waterman.

“That’s why you have companies that can run for 60, 90 days, and bill for ridiculous things. Because there are very few checks and balances to even determine whether these things a, were medically necessary, b, were ever given, or c, even physically possible for a patient with the kind of conditions they have,” Waterman explained.

Kroft then talks to the bureaucrat in charge of stopping fraud, Kim Brandt, Medicare’s director of program integrity:

“Look, I’m sure that you’re aware of these problems. But it doesn’t seem like you’re doing a very good job. I don’t mean you personally, but I mean, the government. This is still like a huge problem, and getting worse, right?” Kroft asked.

“Well, it really does come down to the size and scope of the Medicare program, and the resources that are dedicated to oversight and anti fraud work. One of our biggest challenges has been that we have a program that pays out over a billion claims a year, over $430 billion, and our oversight budget has been extremely limited,” Brandt said.

About that there is little dispute: Medicare has just three field inspectors in all of South Florida to check up on thousands of questionable medical equipment companies.

Clearly more auditing needs to be done and it needs to be done in real time,” Attorney General Eric Holder said.

In other words, Medicare needs to spend much much more on administrative costs if they are going to stop losing $60 billion in taxpayer money every year. And that is before President Obama signs legislation that will put 100 million more Americans into a government run plan."
