When those on the left get into the blame game of blaming President Bush's economic policies for our current economic mess just remind them that Democrats have controlled congress since 2006 and that the economy crashed not due to any Bush administration tax policies but rather the mortgage crisis. When the left blame Republicans for the economic failure of our time being due to the Bush's economic policies they are really forgetting or distracting from the real reason why our economy is in the mess it is in that being the sub-prime mortgage market which bubbled and crashed not due to Bush economic tax policies but the inability to get GSE's regulated which was the responsibility of congress. Actually, early on in the Bush administration Republicans and President Bush tried to reform the sub-prime market a number of times by taking regulatory control of government GSE's out of the hands of the political bureaucracy of congress realizing an independent board could respond quicker to necessary reform then congress could. But Democrats and some Republicans blocked that reform.

Must read!! and BBC News: "Fannie...and...Freddie is the biggest corporate rescue in history...leaving a grey area between being government owned and private sector" and In 1991 conservatives were pushing for the full privatization of Fannie and Freddie and warned of what is happening now if we didn't and here we are...
