So Bayh asked President Obama why should Americans trust the Democrat party to reduce the deficit and control government spending etc etc. Notice President Obama's answer and notice that for any one who knows who was in control of the House and Senate the last 6 years of the Clinton administration our President's argument actually proves the need of the opposition party to gain seats in congress in 2010 in order to get spending under control. Remember that under the Clinton adminstration Republicans controlled the House and Senate the last 6 years of the Clinton administration. Actually, when this is considered our President is actually evidencing forth the necessity of another opposition party revolt at the voters booth much like the revolt under Clinton in 1994.
Notice also his comments about the "tough" political decisions Clinton had to make with no help from the other side. This is absurd.The Republicans were the majority allowing passage of the bills.He obviously got the help needed. Actually, Clinton had to sacrifice his own politics in order to pass the bills that were first approved by the majority which was a Republican majority in the House and Senate.
Sometimes it is unbelievable the answers our President gives when one actually fact checks him. Really we have no reason to trust Democrats except when they are compromising because of a Republican lead House and Senate. That combo worked well in the 90's and I hope we get it back to kick off the new decade with in 2010 and that voters will actually go back to the Clinton administration as President Obama suggests to learn some lessons and those lessons will prove the need of a Republican revolution in 2010 in order to get Big Government under control much like in 1994.
