Before getting into the headlines for last week I wanted to start off the report of this historic mid-term election by quoting Reagan as a caution to these victories that we give God the glory for any victories that will lead America away from further reliance on Big Government and anti-faith, family, life and thus freedom policies with a quote from Ronald Reagan in 1984 at a prayer breakfast in Dallas: "America needs God more than God needs America, If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." This same warning has been repeated by ample leaders from the days of our founding forefathers to this date and so we too in our victories should keep in mind the providence of God in this year's mid-term and historic elections also.
This 2010 mid-term election was truly historic. Not only did Americans elect more Republicans in the House in 70 years but they broke an all time record by voting and picking up GET THIS 680 seats in the state legislators. To give some historical perspective I will quote from HotAir.com: "Who could have suspected that Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi would spark a national rejection of their party that outdid Watergate? In the wake of the resignation of Richard Nixon three months earlier, Democrats won 628 seats in state legislatures while flipping 49 seats in the US House and three seats in the US Senate in those 1974 midterm elections. National Journal reports today that the GOP wreaked “devastation” on Democrats in this cycle by netting not just the 60+ seats in the US House and six US Senate, but also 680 seats in state legislatures across the country"-GOP wins “all-time high” in state legislative seats.
But 2012 is only going to get worse for Democrats if they don't watch out for voters in 2012 for some 21 Democrat Senator seats will be in play along with the White House!!! Democrats and our President better pay attention to the voters these next two years or we will have a Republican led House, Senate and White House along with more Republican led state legislators than ever before and you can just bet that ObamCare will be repealed and replaced. Unbelievable!!! In just two years under President Obama what a change. This is very much like under Clinton and Carter where the administrations attempted to push through a Big Government agenda and got beat hands down in the next elections and take a look at one of our most popular President's in Reagan who cut Government except in national defense and promoted more "We the people..." than Big Government solutions and even Clinton restored his popularity but only after he shifted to where America was at after the 1994 elections and Republicans with Clinton created a surplus in budget.
Carter and Clinton give Obama two options and examples from history. Side with the American people and we may re-elect you, oppose us and we will replace you. In other words be that public servant of "We the people...". This truly has been an election "of the people, for the people and by the people..." after being target by many in the media as racists and homophobes and greedy etc etc etc. We beat the Big politicians and we beat Big Labor and we beat Big liberal billionaires and we beat Big Media. Sure we had some billionaires on our side but without "We the people..." they would have been in the same boat as the liberal billionaires and labor unions. But most importantly the candidates that won out of the Republican party were thankful to God and expressed that thankfulness openly and "We the people..." should be thankful to God for this pro-life, pro-faith, pro-family and pro-freedom in rejecting further reliance on Government and forcing our nation to inch back toward further reliance on "We the people..." and our God that has made us special as a nation and people to solve the problems of our society. If we reject God's wisdom and aid in solving our personal and national issues we will be rejecting the greatest Psychologist, Sociologist, Physiologist, Scientist, Economist and what ever other ologist is out there not to fail to mention Theologists in His Son Jesus Christ and we will then be left with some dumb idol made up by man in His place to solve the problems of our complicated world which is vanity in its purist form.
Church going voters came out in record numbers. Also Planned Parenthood endorsed candidates in the House only make up 34.7% of the House!!! Now the Senate is another story but like I said look out 2012. We may see the left compromise like never before these next two years and if not so we may take the Senate in 2012 and the White House. So "We the people..." are currently in charge but one word of caution. Do not forget God. God can divide this badly needed unity which may be just enough to make for a majority and actually get some things done at the national level that is more on a Godly track but He could rightly take it a way in a heart beat if we leave Him out of it. A couple of things we can do to leave Him out of it: not actively seeking Him in our daily lives, not praying for our nation and not voting for candidates that are consistent with moral values that are consistent with His character which is a blessing to any people.
And to conclude with Reagan as he quotes Lincoln from the past in our nation's crisis of the Civil War in the 1800's and during the current economic crisis that Reagan faced in the 80's: "Abraham Lincoln once said, "I would be the most foolish person on this footstool earth if I believed for one moment that I could perform the duties assigned to me without the help of one who is wiser than all." I know that in the days to come and the years ahead there are going to be many times when there will only be one set of footprints in my life. If I did not believe that, I could not face the days ahead."-1981 National Day of Prayer Breakfast. Reagan was referring to that infamous poem about the footprints in the sand.
