Ron Paul announced his bid for President recently. See Paul declares candidacy in 2012 GOP presidential primary. Ron Paul I don't believe has a chance at winning the Republican primary unless the votes become highly fragmented. After watching the first debate in South Carolina he may have had some cheers but clearly lost the social conservatives on his libertarian views. For more on that watch Alfonzo Rachel's comments on the latest GOP primary debate in South Carolina below.
So that gives us Newt Gingrich, Gary Johnson and Ron Paul who are for sure running for the GOP nominee for President.
Huckabee on the other hand is set to make an announcement about his decision on Saturday on the Huckabee show. He has continued to make it clear that he will not decide until June or July but he may announce an exploratory committee and then have to end the Huckabee show as his important announcement.
I don't know why he would announce that he is not running earlier than he said he would announce as he has been so adamant about that so I am assuming he is set to announce an exploratory move. A post at the New York Times seems to indicate otherwise. For more on that see Huckabee to Announce Decision on Presidential Run Saturday at the New York Times.
Huckabee continues to be VVN's favorite.....
