A new Poll from Fairleigh Dickinson PublicMind 2012 shows once again Huckabee fairs best up against Obama. They are dead even at 46%. Romney comes in second as Romney has 43% and Obama 44% in a head to head match up.

But check this out. Amongst the all important Independents Huckabee takes out Obama by a score of 49% to 40% while Mitt Romney again looses by a point to Obama amongst Independents by a score of 45% to 44%.

Also just released a couple of days ago was a Gallup poll showing Huckabee once again leading in a positive intensity score. Actually the HR1 bill in the Senate got more votes than the Democrat alternative. Unbelievable. This is now the second year that Democrats have been unable to pass a budget. Government shut down possibility is clearly the fault of Democrats inability to unite for now the second year and running.



And they want to paint Republicans as extreme when it was under their leadership for the last year that they couldn't even pass a budget when they had the House, Senate and White House. Unbelievable. And again the Republican HR1 bill got more votes in favor in the Senate did the Democrats alternative.

I agree with the Speaker of the House except I won't cuss. Pass a budget finally...

House Analysis:

The House returns this week after a one week district work period to consider a variety of legislation. On Tuesday evening, the body will consider two pieces of legislation, the Airport and Airway Extension Act of 2011 as well as the Home Affordable Modification Program Termination Act of 2011. On Wednesday, the House will consider the SOAR (Scholarships and Opportunities for Results) Act sponsored by Speaker of the House John Boehner which would reauthorize the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program. A vote is also expected that evening on the Reducing Regulatory Burdens Act of 2011. Thursday, the House begins debate on the FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2011 with a final vote on the measure expected on Friday. Throughout the week, the committee hearing schedule is packed with issues such as the 2012 budget, union transparency, gasoline prices, and the pending free trade agreements.

The Senate returns to Washington after a week long recess to resume consideration of the Small Business bill (a bill that aims to reauthorize the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs until Fiscal Year 2019). There are currently a total of 10 amendments pending to the bill, including an important amendment offered by Senator McConnell that prohibits EPA from regulating greenhouse gas emissions (amendment #183). It’s unclear how long it will take the Senate to dispose of these amendments and how many Senator Reid will allow votes on. Also, the latest short-term Continuing Resolution is set to expire on Friday, April 8.

And I suppose the experts must be bigots, discriminators and haters for noting that about 80% of all cases are amongst homosexual men or men who have sex with other men. And I suppose that the UK Blood Transfusion and Tissue Transplantation Services are discriminating against homosexuals cause they won't take their blood as donations regardless if they wear condoms. Now for the latest from The Christian Institute in an article titled New HIV infections nearly double in past ten years

"There are approximately 30,800 MSM living with HIV in the UK and of these it is estimated that nearly 9,000 are unaware that they are infected.

Medical experts say that anal intercourse is, by its nature, one of the most risky forms of sexual activity.

Sexual health specialists Dr John Dean and Dr David Delvin have warned that the practice carries a greater risk of spreading sexually transmitted infections than almost any other type of sexual activity....

Last September a study showed that rates of HIV in France were 200 times higher in homosexual men than among heterosexuals.

Scientists from the French National Institute for Public Health Surveillance found that nearly half of the 7,000 people newly infected with HIV in the country in 2008 were gay men.

Stephane le Vu, who led the research, said HIV transmission “seems to be out of control” among MSM...

Also in September a separate survey revealed that MSM were fuelling HIV infections in Europe.

Belgian researchers examined 500 patients who had recently been diagnosed with HIV, and discovered that most of the infections were among young white MSM.

The research, conducted by scientists from Ghent University, also revealed that these men were more likely to have contracted other sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis...."

Huckabee doubles his lead over Romney to a 4 point lead from last month according to Gallup which is his best lead yet on Gallup. Huckabee leads Romney 19% to 15% with Palin at 12% and Gingrich at 10%.

However, if Palin drops out Huckabee extends his lead by 3 points with a 7 point advantage of 23% to 16% over Romney with Gingrich at 12%.

The Heritage Foundation has this excellent post titled Morning Bell: Detroit’s Liberal Nightmare

The Washington Examiner’s Michael Barone writes: “When people ask me why I moved from being a liberal to being a conservative, my single-word answer is Detroit. The liberal policies which I hoped would make Detroit something like heaven have made it instead something more like hell.”

"The once-great city lost 237,493 residents over the last decade according to the 2010 Census, bringing it to 713,777 – a population plunge of 25%. That’s its lowest population since 1910..."

"And while the Motor City suffers unemployment from a decimated automotive industry, it suffers crime, high taxes, poor city services, plummeting home values, and a public education system in shambles with a $327 million budget deficit and a 19 percent dropout rate. Is it any wonder people are leaving in droves?"

"One former Detroiter told The Detroit News, “Detroit just got too messy for me … I was not getting the benefits of those tax dollars. The city services are poor and I could not use the school system. And you look at the cost of living and the corruption, we had to leave.” In other words, bad government drove her out, and she’s seeking greener pastures elsewhere.

For the record, Detroit has been under liberal leadership for decades. And the city’s big problem today is that its road forward is blocked by the very same political machine that helped deliver it to its state of ruin. Case in point: the state’s powerful teachers unions. In 2003, a philanthropist pledged $200 million for the creation of 15 charter schools in the city. Despite the city’s tragic public school system, the plan failed and the offer was withdrawn following protests by the Detroit Federation of Teachers.

Little has changed, eight years later. A state-appointed emergency financial manager has proposed sweeping changes to the city’s public school system, including a plan to convert 41 of the city’s schools to charter schools. Guess who’s opposed to the reforms? That very same union.

The newly elected governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder (R), is finding opposition to his efforts at reform, as well. Following eight years of Democrat Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s rule, Gov. Snyder has embarked on efforts to change the way the state does business, including tax reform, spending cuts and empowering emergency financial managers to tackle problems in cities and schools. Who’s opposed to his reforms? Unions, once again, in Wisconsin-style protests."

I believe you do have to give some way to the Commander in Chief as he has much more intelligence than most of us do. Apple has caved to homosexual activists groups once again. This is the second time in less than 6 months that a Christian app was taken off of the Apple Iphone because of homosexual activists. Now Apple dumps the ex-gay Christian community to appease homosexual activists. This is from The Christian Institute out of the UK in an article titled Apple caves in and dumps ex-gay app

"Technology giant Apple has bowed to pressure from homosexual activists and removed an online product from an ex-homosexual group.

Separately, a UK Christian publisher says she has been forced to cancel the launch of a novel about a man who leaves the homosexual lifestyle after a protest was threatened.

The online product is an ‘app’, a downloadable application for Apple’s popular iPhone.

Disappointing

Last month commentator Melanie Phillips warned that “some gay people were in danger of turning into the new McCarthyites by demonising and attempting to silence all who disagreed with the gay rights agenda”.

The app was ditched following an online petition set up by a homosexual campaign group which demanded Apple remove the product.

Alan Chambers, the President of Exodus International, the ex-gay group, said the news was “incredibly disappointing”.

Exodus International works to “promote the love of Jesus Christ to all those who have been impacted by unwanted same-sex attractions”....."

The article goes on to talk of yet another incident of a novel that was to be released and homosexual activist got the hotel to stop hosting the release of the fiction book about an ex-gay. Unbelievable...

He states concerning this principle of true self government that "You will recognize this theme throughout this book...". Keeping the Pledge: Republicans Are “Getting the Spending Cut”

Republicans pledged to listen to the American people and make the spending cuts economists say we need to end the uncertainty facing job creators so they can start hiring again – and they’re keeping that pledge. The Democrats who run Washington, meanwhile, are divided and “haven’t outlined what specific cuts they’d prefer” nor “put forward a long-term spending plan.”
As Speaker Boehner said yesterday, “If we want our economy to start creating jobs again, we can’t duck our responsibility to rein in the runaway government spending that is spreading uncertainty in our country and crowding out private investment.” With that in mind, here’s a quick look at some of the spending cuts House Republicans have approved so far in the first few months of the 112th Congress:

• Stopping the job-crushing spending binge started the first week of the 112th Congress when the House led by example and voted to cut its own budget by 5 percent. The House also approved rules that make it easier to cut spending and harder to increase spending, and adopted a House-wide ban on earmarks;

• The House voted to cut $100 billion in discretionary spending from the president’s FY11 budget (H.R.1). That same long-term funding measure received more votes in the Democrat-run Senate than the proposal by Democratic leaders;

• The House voted to repeal ObamaCare, which would cost taxpayers upwards of $2.6 trillion if fully enacted, and also voted specifically to defund the health care law in H.R. 1;

• The House voted to cut $4 billion over two weeks in a short-term funding measure;

• The House then cut another $6 billion and eliminated more than 20 federal programs, bringing the total signed by the president to $10 billion in real cuts over just five weeks. Charles Krauthammer called this “real money” and Fred Barnes said, “Republicans are winning and getting the spending cut”;

• The House voted to save taxpayers $8 billion by beginning the process of shutting down the TARP bailout program;

• The House voted to save taxpayers $1 billion by shutting down an ineffective Dodd-Frank program under which taxpayers will lose 98 cents of every dollar spent;

• The House voted this week to save taxpayers $1 billion by terminating a costly taxpayer-funded bailout program – this one also included in the Democrats’ job-crushing Dodd-Frank regulations bill;

• The House voted to save taxpayers $617 million by shutting down taxpayer funding for campaigns and political conventions; and

• With the government borrowing 40 cents out of every dollar it spends, the House also voted to end unnecessary taxpayer subsidies for National Public Radio (NPR).

And there are more cuts to come. For example, the House will soon vote to slash ObamaCare’s mandatory spending slush funds. On The Laura Ingraham Show last month, Speaker Boehner said Republicans are doing “everything we can … to make sure that there's no money for ObamaCare.” And House Republicans will unveil a budget within the next few weeks that will lead where the president failed and takes on the entitlement spending that is driving our job-crushing debt burden.  As Speaker Boehner said yesterday, “If the president and his party won’t lead, we will.”

Update: Here is link to New York Times best seller list as Mike Huckabee has been upgraded into the Hardcover Non-Fiction classification and is currently at #5 on the New York Times best seller after two weeks of being #2 in the classification Hardcover Advice & Misc.. So this is the 3rd week in a roll on the New York Times best seller lists. The book is #12 under the overall category of Combined Print & E-Book nonfiction.

Right now Huckabee's newest book has been on the New York Times best seller list under classification of "Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous" for the last two weeks at #2. But apparently spokeswoman for the New York Times Danielle Rhoades Ha told Newsmax that the book will be getting an upgrade to the more popular "Non-fiction" best-seller list.

“We consider titles on a case-by-case basis, and the decision involves a multiplicity of factors, which in turn can lead to a change in our categorization,” says Ha. “As it happens, ‘Simple Government’ by Mike Huckabee will now appear on the non-fiction list.”..."

He states concerning this principle of true self government that "You will recognize this theme throughout this book...". This subtitle and page concluded chapter one of the book in which Huckabee titled "The Most Important Form of Government Is a Father, a Mother, and Children: We Need a Return to Family Values" in which he lays out the importance of the family to the health of our nation and how costly broken families are to our nation.

   "Further, as I've thoroughly outlined in a previous book, Do the Right Thing, the very best form of government is self government. It's the goal that every honorable leader should seek to implement for his or her followers. In the family, a good parent builds independence in his or her children, not dependence. I can't imagine that a parent would feel successful if a forty-year-old child was still living at home and was unable to balance a checkbook, wash his own laundry, clean up his own room, drive himself to do errands, or responsibly find a job or income to pay his part of the freight. The idea of a child's remaining permanently dependent on parents is heartbreaking. By the same token, the pastors' making parishioners solely dependent upon the church ministry is the antithesis of New Testament Christianity. Instead, the Scriptures make clear that the pastor's role is to equip saints or the parishioners to do the work of ministry as individuals. A church that provides only a forum for the pastor's ideas and encourages worshippers to follow him or her without becoming directly and personally involved in some type of genuine, living ministry to others is not even close to biblical norm of the purpose of church.
   "Finally, when politicians encourage people to become increasingly dependent upon them and the government programs they create, they've violated those people's sovereignty and autonomy as individuals. You will recognize this theme throughout this book, for I firmly believe that such abandonment of personal responsibility can lead the destruction of our nation. We must be on guard: Whether we are talking about parents, pastors, or politicians, the goal should never be to create dependence on a leader or a government program; the aim should be to nurture independence that will empower and equip, not enslave."

House deal sends budget to governor: krqe.com

"....The bill will provide $111 million toward funding the appropriations bill lawmakers sent the governor late Wednesday.

The original vote on concurring with Senate changes to House Bill 628 was 30-38, so the bill was thought to be going back to the Senate to see if that chamber would recede from its changes.

Instead, House Speaker Ben Luján held the bill while he and others worked to flip votes. Thursday night, the House concurred with the changes on a vote of 35-34.

The governor had threatened earlier Thursday to veto the entire budget if lawmakers didn’t balance it. She did that in an interview with KOB-TV.

“This isn’t Washington D.C., and I’m not going to sign an unbalanced budget bill. Period,” she said."

The Senate has followed the lead of the House for yet another temporary bill to fund the Government for another 3 weeks. This time it was $6 billion in cuts which brings the total for the past 5 weeks to $10 billion. It passed by a vote of 87-13.

House Republicans promised to cut the budget by $100 billion off of Obama's proposed budget of last year which never got passed. They have been pro-rating that $100 billion dollars into about $2 billion a week so for the last 5 weeks we have a total of $10 billion in cuts.

The first temporary billed passed the House by a vote of 335-91 this time it passed the House by a vote of 271-158.

The Senate can't agree on a budget largely because of division amongst Democrats. Actually the House bill got more votes than the Democrat proposal. They now have another three weeks to pass a budget that was suppose to be passed last year. We are now finding out why they couldn't pass a budget last year. The Democrats are not united on the budget when they controlled both Houses and the White House how much less are they going to side with Republicans on the budget.

Michele in the latest Gallup poll was up there with Huckabee on what Gallup called a "positive intensity" score (see Gallup: Huckabee up by +8 over Gingrich, Palin and Romney in a "positive intensity" poll). But overall is well behind Gingrich, Palin, Romney and Huckabee. I have yet to see a poll on how a match up between Michele and Obama would play out but Huckabee has consistently faired well against Obama.
