But this is entirely false. Nobody has seen our President's "original birth certificate" not even FactCheck.org nor Snopes.com nor Politifact.com. FactCheck.org admits this in the very link that New Mexico Independent links to. As I quote: "Fukino said she has “personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."
In other words the only one who has personally seen and verified Obama's "original birth certificate" is Dr Fukino not FactCheck.org or any independent group at all.
But what is confusing everybody is FactCheck.org themselves cause they claim that they have "....seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said."
FactCheck.org HAS NOT seen our President's "original birth certificate" as is clear by FactCheck.org themselves as you will see in picture to the left from FactCheck.org the date stamped on the back of that certificate that they inspected. Clearly nobody in their right or left mind is going to believe this is the "original birth certificate" dated Jun -6 2007.
Now let us head over to another local news source in NMPolitics.net on this issue. They didn't go as far as New Mexico Independent did but they did say this "Politifact.com is among the news organizations that looked into the situation. It obtained a copy of Obama’s Hawaii birth certificate and verified with the Hawaii Department of Health that the birth certificate is valid." So let us go to Politifact.com and see what they found and you will notice they gave up on the "original birth certificate".
Politifact.org said this "The ultimate document we sought was Obama's birth certificate. Unlike the other documents, Hawaii birth certificates aren't public record. Only family members can request copies, so when the campaign declined to give us one, we were stalled. On June 13, 2008, Obama's campaign finally released a copy..." which is the same copy that FactCheck.org verified which is not the original. So then the next question is were they able to then obtain the "original birth certificate".
To answer that let us move on with another quote from Politifact.com on the same page. After the copy of the birth certificate certified in 2007 was in dispute Politifact.com rightly said this "At PolitiFact.com, we're all about original sources. We don't take anyone at their word or take the reporting of other media organizations as proof. We go to the heart of the story, the source of the truth — original, corroborating documents."
Great finally some one who agrees with the crazy "birthers" so what did they end with. Did they actually obtain the "original birth certificate" and if not why not? Here is Politifact.com's statement just after the above quoted statement. "When the official documents were questioned, we went looking for more answers. We circled back to the Department of Health, had a newsroom colleague bring in her own Hawaii birth certificate to see if it looks the same (it's identical). But every answer triggered more questions. And soon enough, after going to every length possible to confirm the birth certificate's authenticity, you start asking, what is reasonable here?"
Well at least they tried right. So to date nobody has seen our President's original birth certificate which is confirmed by both FactCheck.org, Politifact.com and the same would go for Snopes.com except Dr Fukino. So the headline should read combining all these Fact Checking web sites together:
"We tried to obtain our President's original birth certificate but were unsuccessful but Dr Fukino has seen the original and has verified that our President is a natural born citizen."-Politifact.com, FactCheck.org and Snopes.com.
So we are left with relying upon one state official's statement that our President is a natural born citizen via the "original birth certificate". I repeat no one except Dr Fukino has seen that certificate. Actually Dr Fukino confirms it exists and so then the next natural and proper journalistic question should be: Why not release it? And that is the reason why this issue has yet to go away. That question has not been answered as most news groups have ignored the question all together being mislead by statements similar to those at FactCheck.org.
So if Pearce is for "subpoenaing the president’s birth certificate" I am all for it cause then and only then will this issue finally be resolved. But until then it is a fair and natural and proper question for any fair and open minded objective journalist to ask. The only reason why one would not ask it is if he/she were being pressured by a bias of some sort or because it is an easily made fun of question or reputation or your organization has taken a stance and made fun of people concerned about this issue and so you won't step out and report the issue properly. But a journalist should only care about what the truth of the matter is and reporting it.
And so Values Voter News knows that it may loose some credibility by bringing up this issue ever so often and has been timid to do so. But when something is not being reported on properly in the media and Americans are being slandered as racists over this issue somebody has to step to the plate and make the reasoned defense and hopefully for those on both sides of this issue they will see that Values Voter News is attempting to do just that. I am not a "birther" nor a racist nor a hater but I do see why the issue has yet to go away and I hope I have made a reasonable argument why as opposed to the other reasons that the left has given namely that "birthers" are all racists. That argument is getting so old from the left that it is getting more and more absurd and ridiculous not to mention making them appear very desperate. The next card they are sure to pull will be the class card. It is all about the rich class vs the poor class and we are all against the poor because we are not for tax cuts for the rich. Maybe many are not for tax cuts for the rich cause they don't like to be ruled by a Bigger than "We the people..." Government and they actually see Big Government making America more poor by the day. What is our unemployment at again? Big Government has failed the people unfortunately "We the people..." have allowed this but it appears "We the people..." are waking up.
Let the rich have there money it sure beats living under a monstrosity of a Government that will only grow and grow and grow with no accountability and make our nation even poorer. Apparently $13 trillion deficit isn't enough for some. You can tax the rich to heaven and you won't be able to pay that off without cutting Government spending. Warren Buffett has made 60 billion dollars over his almost 100 year life and that wouldn't even pay off our bailout to Fannie and Freddie. Government has got to stop spending until then and only then can they justify higher taxes on anybody. And then to claim people are for the greedy if they are against tax hikes to fund this monstrosity of a Government. Unbelievable. Lean Big Government and then make your claims. Chris Christie leaned up a record $11 billion deficit in New Jersey without tax hikes. And Texas has created 70% of all the jobs in the US since 2008 with a conservative state government that has met only 90 days in three years and Texas isn't becoming a third world state but rather is one of the leading economies in the world.
Anyways the point is that it is not always about race or greed with American patriots who would like to get back to limited Government. They have there good points also that have nothing to do with race or greed much like the "birthers" have a fair point also.
